Graphical information

Single nutrients are shown in a logaritmic-like style bar graphic that allows you to view with maximum detail values from 0.1ug. to thousand of milligrams on the same graphic.

For more information on how these graphs work follow the link. Nutrients are represented by icons with acronyms, mousing any over of these icons you get the full name.

Macronutrients are represented as a segmented percentual bar graphic with one color for each macronutrient. This way you can view the whole macronutrient composition at a glance.

The exact weight of each macronutrient is also given as you see in the sample image above.

Toolbar: a lot of useful functions with a single click

When viewing any food item, you'll see the toolbar at the top of the page, just below the food hierarchy navigation bar. The toolbar allows you to access several functions with just a single click:

In the sample image, from left to right you can via toolbar: empty the food items you've added to the basket, compare the current item with the ones already added (apple, pineapple and watermelon in the sample), you can also add the current item to the basket and compare the current item with some dietary recommendations. Finally you can view an XML and an text version of the nutrient data for the food you're viewing. For any doubt of what and toolbar button/icon do, just mouse over it and you'll get a brief description.

Nutritional scores

For many nutrients and nutrient groups, healnut.com shows you a 0-100 score value on how the food item fits the recommendations. An average score value of all the particular scores is shown at the top of the page.
